Band Flyer

This assignment is broken into 3 parts.  In the first part we were required to make a flyer for a made up band concert.  We had to include the fictitious name of the band, and the date, time and place of the concert.  It had to be 8 1/2 by 11 inches, but we could use any medium.  I made my poster from a color reduction linocut.

For part 2, we were required to place the poster in a public area.  I posted my flyer on a bulletin board in Neuberger Hall

For part 3, we were to write a concert review about our fictitious band.

Band Name:  Box of Rocks
Venue: Mississippi Studios
Date: Wednesday Feb. 21, 2029 @ 9PM
Cost: $8 in advance/ $10 at door
Band members:
Jan Flint- Vocals, Sitar, Guitar, Obo
Pete Flint- Vocals, Synthesizer, Piano
Bobby Quartz- Drums, Whistling

The Box of Rocks concert at Mississippi Studios last night was phenomenal.  Any fan who didn't make it to the concert, missed the show of a lifetime.  Jan Flint, her brother Pete Flint, and their childhood friend Bobby Quartz set the relaxing electronic mood right of the bat with their hit song, An Economist.  They kept up the awesome chillness with their song, Are You Into Converses?.  They played an awesomely eerie song, never heard before, called Masters but no family.  Each member of Box of Rocks is an expert at their instruments.  Jan is a world class oboist and playing sitars are no cinch, but she does it with ease.  In Are You Into Converses?, Jan's ghoul-y obo mixed with Pete's dark and dreary piano playing was at it's best last night.
